Man vs. Machine: The Fall of Mankind
Okay, I am, I admit. I am a total geek. I love sweet, sweet to my Blackberry Curve on a regular basis all my music is in MP3 format, and, yes, Google is my friend (with benefits). I have love technology, right? I mean, we spent the days we had to remember telephone numbers (hell, I'll be damned if even remember mine), a library of music without limits is just a click away and most of us pay our bills (gag) without using a shred of paper. Sounds completely awesome, right? A world of science fiction come to life – Ahhhh ….
… Well, maybe not. All this got me thinking (if you smell smoke, call the feds). All this technology is slow but notable supposedly surely we humans steal what is most precious to us – our minds. Can not remember phone numbers, appointments, vacations or simple directions, even longer without using our phone of trust or do a quick search on the Internet. Our script is going to hell, because, hey, Word is built-in spell checker, and our handwriting (What is this?) – well, with e-mail and electronic bill payments, who demons have to write more? I'm actually rather surprised the ink manufacturers have gone bankrupt, one by one. Here, my friends, is where machines becoming more intelligent than us, and will be a sad day, sad for us all.
So, come on, think about it – I'm the first to admit that technology is a beautiful thing, but I'm the only one out there who think your beginning to get some …. too wonderful? I'm waiting with bated breath to know what you all think, and yes, as always, death threats, jeers and some dead fish in my mailbox are always welcome.
